Rajshahi University suspends instructor after capturing over the Facebook post on Nasim


Rajshahi University has suspended Assistant Professor Kazi Jahidur Rahman following his capture in the Digital Security Act over a slanderous Facebook post on the late Health Minister Mohammed Nasim. 
The choice was taken at an organization meeting of the college on Saturday, said acting recorder, MA Bari.

"As per the college rules, if any instructor or worker is captured over criminal allegations, the person in question can be incidentally excused. The suspension will be powerful from the day of his capture - Jun 18," Bari said.

The organization meeting was led by Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdus Sobhan.

Jahidur, an instructor of software engineering and building at Rajshahi University, is presently in a correctional facility. On Jun 17, attorney Taposh Saha, an occupant of Rajshahi's Sagarpara, documented the case with Matihaar Police Station under the Digital Security Act.

He was captured the evening of Jun 17 from the college instructors' quarters on charges of spreading slanderous words about Nasim.
